| Sheri Burns was born in Houston,Texas and now makes her home in the rural village of Corrales, New Mexico. Sheri is the wife of artist Dorman Burns, mother of artist son Downe Burns and artist daughter Breck Gorman. Of her work, she says, "I love painting, especially creating rich, color contrasts. Color, it really is all about color and about being spontaneous." Elements of reality, abstraction and ex- pressivness penetrate Sheri's colorful paintings. The images she paints are full of positive energy which is a reflect- ction of her own personality and spirit. She most often paints in acrylic on linen or paper. Sheri has developed her style and what- ever the subject she's painting you will notice the freshness and exuberance of color. The ambience and rich cultural influence of northern New Mexico is a constant source of inspiration. |
